1. Scope
This Shipping Policy applies to purchases made through ohthisoldthing.shop for delivery within Australia and to selected international destinations.
We primarily ship with Australia Post. For international deliveries, Australia Post may hand parcels to local postal or courier partners in the destination country.
We may update available destinations, carriers, and shipping methods at any time.
2. Processing Times
Orders are usually packed and dispatched within 1-3 business days after payment is received in full.
We do not dispatch on weekends or Australian public holidays.
During busy periods, sales, or promotional events, processing times may be longer.
If we are unable to dispatch your order within a reasonable timeframe, we will contact you using the details provided at checkout.
3. Shipping Methods
Australia
Standard shipping: usually sent via Australia Post Parcel Post
Express shipping: available on request and subject to additional charges and availability
Estimated delivery timeframes are provided as a guide only and are not guaranteed.
International
Standard international shipping: sent via Australia Post and local delivery partners
Express international shipping: available on request, subject to destination, parcel size, and additional cost
Estimated international delivery timeframes are guides only and may be affected by customs processing, destination-country carrier delays, peak periods, weather events, industrial action, or other disruptions outside our control.
4. Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the shipping profile, parcel size, weight, and destination.
Bulky, heavy, fragile, or oversized items may incur higher shipping costs. If an order cannot be shipped at the checkout rate shown, we may contact you before dispatch to arrange an additional payment or cancel and refund the order.

5. Tracking
All shipped orders include tracking where available through the selected carrier.
Tracking details will be sent to the email address provided at checkout once the order has been dispatched.
Tracking scans, especially on international orders, may not update immediately and may pause while parcels move between postal networks or are held for customs inspection.
6. Delivery Timeframes
All delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, border inspections, weather events, strikes, public holidays, security checks, or other events outside our reasonable control.
7. Customs, Duties, Taxes & Import Charges
For international orders, the customer is responsible for all import duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges, VAT, GST, and local handling fees imposed by the destination country, unless expressly stated otherwise.
These charges are not included in item prices or shipping charges unless clearly stated at checkout.
Import rules and charges vary by country and may change without notice. It is the customer’s responsibility to check local import requirements before placing an order.
We will not mark orders as gifts or undervalue parcels to avoid duties or taxes.
If a parcel is refused, abandoned, or returned due to unpaid import charges, refusal to complete customs requirements, or prohibited/restricted import rules, any refund will be limited to the order value less:
outbound shipping costs
return shipping costs
customs or carrier fees
handling costs
any non-recoverable charges
8. U.S. Orders
For orders shipped to the United States, customs treatment, duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage charges, and low-value import thresholds may change at any time. We do not guarantee that any U.S. order will qualify for duty-free or low-value import treatment.
Any such charges remain the customer’s responsibility unless explicitly stated otherwise.
9. EU and Other International Orders
For orders shipped to the European Union and other regulated markets, the customer is responsible for any import VAT, customs duties, clearance costs, and local compliance-related import issues.
Please note that product safety, traceability, and import compliance requirements may apply in some jurisdictions. Customers should check local import rules before placing an order.
10. Packaging & Fragile Items
We take extra care to pack vintage and fragile items securely.
Because many of our items are secondhand, original retail packaging is generally not available. Protective packaging will be used to help reduce the risk of transit damage.
If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and, where possible, within 48 hours of delivery, with:
clear photos of the item
clear photos of the internal and external packaging
the shipping label
a brief description of the damage
This helps us assess the issue and, where relevant, lodge a carrier claim.
11. Lost, Delayed or Marked-as-Delivered Parcels
If a parcel appears lost in transit, please contact us and we will assist by opening an inquiry with the carrier where possible.
If a parcel is marked as delivered but cannot be located, the customer should first:
check the delivery address used at checkout
check with household members or neighbours
check safe-drop locations
contact the local delivery carrier
Once a parcel has been marked as delivered by the carrier, especially where safe drop or authority to leave applies, recovery options may be limited. We will still try to assist, but outcomes depend on the carrier’s investigation process.
12. Incorrect Addresses & Unclaimed Parcels
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
If an order is returned due to an incorrect address, failed delivery, non-collection, or refusal to accept delivery, we can arrange reshipment at the customer’s cost.
If the customer no longer wants the order, any refund will be limited to the order value less outbound shipping, return costs, carrier fees, and any other non-recoverable charges.
13. Shipping Restrictions
We reserve the right to decline, cancel, or refund any order before dispatch where:
shipping is unavailable to the destination
the item is too fragile, bulky, or risky to ship safely
the shipping cost quoted at checkout is materially incorrect
legal, customs, or carrier restrictions make shipment impractical

Nothing in this Shipping Policy excludes, limits, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.
